Photos of these are posted on the FaceBook group "Coalition of Arizona Bicyclists".

It is truly great that, with patience, we can work with the City of Phoenix and they are responsive to our needs. Our main objective is that we continue to be involved and can review future projects before they are finalized. Unfortunately, the design of the first expansion of L-R to Dunlap Rd. is already firmed even though we are at least a year from any digging and pouring of concrete.

Gene

The signs are up and they painted chevrons in the ...

The signs are up and they painted chevrons in the bike box.

My question is why not just eliminate the bike lane on Jefferson @ 5th street. The cyclist is going to be in the right most lane (second from curb) any way due to a right turn only lane on 3rd street. It then is a I 17 lane after. This position leaves you north of the tracks and you don't have to cross them at all until 24st. If you want to use the bike lane you only need to merge at any time before 9st or simply merge into the lane and then merge into the bike lane.
